October is the month south metro families stop pretending summer is still on. The corn mazes open, pumpkins stack up on downtown light poles, and every weekend fills fast. CompanyClean is a locally owned house cleaning company based in Highlands Ranch, serving the south Denver metro, and this is our guide to October 2026 events across Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Parker, Centennial, and Littleton.

Every event below was checked against the organizer's own page on the date shown. Plans change, especially outdoors, so tap through before you load up the car.

What runs all October long?

We could not confirm any October events for Sterling Ranch before this guide went out. If your neighborhood has one, tell us and we will add it to the weekend guide.

Save the date: what needs action now?

A few of these sell out or close registration before the day. Handle these in the next week or two:

  • Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield Farms: buy tickets in advance. Popular time slots go first.
  • Fieldhouse Fright Night in Parker: pre-register each child. Online registration closes at 3 p.m. on Oct. 10, and walk-up costs more.
  • Castle Pines Pumpkin Race: register your pumpkin racer. If you want the city's race kit, order it by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, and pick it up by noon on Friday, Oct. 23.
  • Always...Patsy Cline: weekend shows at the Lone Tree Arts Center are the first to fill.

Around the house this month

October is the on-ramp to hosting season. Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 26, and the weeks before it fill fast. Many of our clients start with a deep clean before the holidays and keep the house at that standard from there, so the pumpkin patch gets the Saturday, not the baseboards.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best family events in the south Denver metro in October 2026?

The Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield Farms in Littleton, Oct. 9 to 11, is the biggest. Castle Pines' Fall Festival and Pumpkin Race on Oct. 24, Parker's indoor Fieldhouse Fright Night on Oct. 10, and Castle Rock's Fangtastic Festival on Oct. 30 are the strongest community picks. The Chatfield corn maze runs every weekend all month.

Where can you pick pumpkins near Highlands Ranch in October?

The closest large patch is the Pumpkin Festival at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms in Littleton, a short drive west of Highlands Ranch. It runs Friday to Sunday, Oct. 9 to 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are sold in advance, and pumpkin purchases are card only.

What is there to do on Halloween night 2026 in Highlands Ranch?

The Highlands Ranch Mansion hosts a free, outdoors-only Halloween night on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., with a DJ and drinks for purchase. No reservation is needed, but parking is limited and neighborhood parking is not allowed, so carpool, bike or walk.

Spend October out there, not in here
